Shatsky National Park

A very beautiful National Park that we thoroughly enjoyed. The road to get here was new and amazing! They have built very nice picnic areas along the road also.

One of the largest groupings of lakes in Europe Shatsky has over 30 lakes that cover 70 sq.km. It is the location of the deepest lake in Ukraine, Svitiaz that is 58 meters deep. It didn’t become a national park until 1983 but since then has been recognized as one of the most important bio reserves in Europe. Dozens of rare birds and animals either call Shatsky home or use it in their migration patterns as a place to rest.
