Here are some abandoned places that we discovered in Ukraine

Trakhtemyriv National Park

We drove here just to see what was there and we were astounded! The views of the Dnepr are amazing! The road, once inside the park, was good but very narrow. There are also a few off road tracts through the area so be careful what you pick. This place has a rich history dating back to the 1500’s and before. Rumor has it the Cossaks used this space to hide their valuable goods! In the late 1990’s it was turned into the first private national park. There were some Cossak graves that were destroyed to build a hunting cabin, more like a mansion, equipped with a swimming pool and a heliport. After a huge public outrage it was then turned into a Public National Park in the mid 2000’s.
