This is pretty cool for a day trip! Add it to some of the bunkers that are in the area and you can really enjoy a day here!
It is debated who built these walls and when but the are some of the largest earth work wall built in Europe. They vary in size from but the largest are 12 meters high and 20 meters wide! They were build to protect settlers in the Kyiv region from the steppe nomads to the south that is known for sure. Anything more is just a guess. They are called Serpants wall due to the myth that the hero Nikita Kozhemyako harnessed a giant snake and then drowned him in the black sea and where the snakes body lay became the boundaries of Kyiv from the Black Sea.
