Motronynske Holy Trinity Monastery

A nice quiet womans monastery in an out of the way location. Founded in 1037 this monastery has seen virtually the entire history of Ukraine. Looted and burned by Mongol invaders in 1240. Then being given more land and tax free status by Cossaks only to be shut down by the Bolshevicks. During WW2 the last church that stood on the ground was shot and destroyed by German tanks. In 1968 it was decided to restore the former monastery and in 1990 it was returned to its original glory as a monastery.
