Castle Czarnokozincach

One of the oldest Castles in the area. Now the castle is in ruins but still rather interesting. We were there for about an hour walking around and trying to see all the small rooms that are there. Mostly now the interior rooms of the castle are filled with trees so its difficult to get around inside.

Built in the early 14th century now the castle is in ruins. It served as a summer retreat for Catholic Bishops from the 15th to 18th centuries. In 1674 the castle was destroyed by Turks but it was quickly rebuilt. In 1794 it was on the border of the Russian Empire. Then in the second world war it was used as a base for NKVD troops who stayed here for some time.
