A neat place not far from Kyiv to go and visit a castle that has been turned into a working and living museum.
Built in 1612 by the Monks of Lavra. Originally it was just a paper mill here that was made to produce paper specifically for the works and books produced by the monks. The paper mill worked until the late 17th century when it was destroyed in wars. Then in 1902 a flour mill was made atop the old papermill ruins. The flour mill worked until 1989 when it was abandoned and the area turned into the town dump.
In 2007 the place was purchased and over 60 tons of garbage was removed and restoration begun.
Now there is a nice park and museum you can visit.
