Nevitski Castle

A really cool castle north of Uzhgorod. Its falling down some but its rather remote and the scenery is very beautiful. 

Originally built in the 13th century above the Uzh river on the site of an old wooden fortress. It was a part of many battles. In 1644 it was captured by the King of Transylvania and he destroyed it. It was then forgotten and abandoned for some time leaving it in the state it is in now. 

The road to get here was very good and we enjoyed coming. Its not far from Uzhgorod and shouldn’t be missed!
